GenerLink™ Transfer Switch Program

GenerLink™ Transfer Switch Program

GenerLink™ gives members a more convenient way to connect a compatible portable generator during an outage. CCEC installs approved GenerLink™ devices at no charge for qualifying services.

Estimated Cost

  • GenerLink device: Approximately $910 to $1,545, depending on the model selected.

  • CCEC installation: No charge for approved installations on qualifying services.
  • Important note: Final pricing is provided through the ordering portal before purchase. Pricing may vary by model and supplier.

Whether you are preparing for wildfire season, live in an area where outages may take longer to restore, or simply want added peace of mind, GenerLink™ may be an option to consider.

A GenerLink™ Transfer Switch is installed behind the electric meter and allows a compatible portable generator to connect to your home’s electrical system. The device helps reduce the need for extension cords and helps prevent generator power from backfeeding onto CCEC’s distribution system during an outage.

CCEC’s program provides a standard process for members who want to purchase a GenerLink™ device and have it installed by CCEC. Participation is voluntary, and members are responsible for determining whether GenerLink™ and their portable generator are right for their home and needs.

Who May Benefit
A GenerLink™ may be especially helpful for members who:

  • Live in rural areas or at or near the end of a distribution line.
  • May experience longer outage restoration times.
  • Live in areas where Public Safety Power Shutoffs may occur.
  • Rely on power-sensitive medical equipment.
  • Want a more convenient way to connect a compatible portable generator during an outage.

How the Program Works

  1. Submit an Interest Form: Complete the online interest form so CCEC can begin the review process.
  2. Schedule a Meter Base Evaluation: A CCEC representative will contact you to schedule an on-site meter base evaluation.
  3. Purchase an Approved Device: If your meter base is compatible, CCEC will provide a link to a third-party fulfillment portal for your convenience. Members are responsible for purchasing the correct GenerLink™ device and may use the fulfillment portal or purchase from another authorized retailer. CCEC does not recommend a particular GenerLink™ device, model, or retailer.
  4. Review and Sign Required Documents: You will review and sign the GenerLink™ Program Agreement and Release of Liability before completing your purchase.
  5. Contact CCEC After Your Device Arrives: Once you receive your GenerLink™ device, contact CCEC to schedule installation.
  6. CCEC Installs the GenerLink™ Device: A CCEC representative will install the approved GenerLink™ device at no charge for a qualifying electrical service.
