CCECF Bright Ideas Grant Application – OPEN

The Bright Ideas Grant Program, sponsored by the Coos-Curry Electric Charitable Foundation (CCECF), provides funding for innovative K-12 classroom projects that would not otherwise receive financial support. Open to educators at traditional schools, homeschool groups, and education-based organizations, Bright Ideas exists to turn great teaching ideas into real learning experiences across all subject areas, from science and technology to art, music, reading, and history.

Projects are evaluated on innovation, learning objectives, student involvement, and budget. Individual grants are awarded up to $1,500, and each teacher is limited to one proposal per funding cycle. Grant recipients will be asked to submit a follow-up report with photos documenting their completed project.
Full program guidelines are available at ccecf.org.

Application Timeline

  • March 23, 2026 Applications open. Submit online at ccecf.org.
  • April 15, 2026 Final application deadline.
  • May 2026 Grant recipients are selected and notified.

How It Works

  1. Apply online Submit your project idea and budget through our online application portal during the application window. Make sure to include your itemized budget template to the application.
  2. Applications are reviewed A panel of judges evaluates submissions based on creativity, innovation, student impact, and instructional value.
  3. Winners are selected Grants are awarded and recipients are notified. Partial funding may be awarded to support more projects.
  4. Ideas come to life Funded educators implement their projects and share the results with the Foundation and their community.

Materials and equipment purchased with Bright Ideas funds are the property of the school and must remain on campus.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What kinds of projects are funded? Projects across all curriculum areas are welcome. If it benefits students and brings learning to life, we want to hear about it.
  • Are there restrictions on what grant funds can be used for? Bright Ideas grants are intended to support innovative programs and projects that create new learning experiences for students, not to cover routine classroom supplies or equipment storage. A strong application goes beyond materials and demonstrates a creative idea, a clear learning objective, and a meaningful impact on students. If you are unsure whether your project is a good fit, we encourage you to reach out before applying.
  • How much funding can I apply for? Grants are awarded up to $1,500. Award amounts may vary based on project needs and available funds.
  • Can I apply as a team? Yes. Educators are encouraged to apply individually or collaboratively with fellow teachers.
  • When will I hear back? All applicants will be notified approximately one month after the application deadline.
  • I applied in a previous cycle and was not funded. Can I try again? Absolutely, and we hope you do. If your project was not selected, please reach out to the Foundation. We would love to connect with you, walk through your application, and help you strengthen it for the next funding cycle. A great idea deserves every chance to succeed.
  • What if my school is outside CCEC’s service territory? Reach out to us directly. We consider each situation individually and want to support as many local educators as possible.
