Off-Peak Home EV Charging Program
CCEC is introducing a program that incentivizes electric vehicle home charging during off-peak energy hours.
Members who participate in the program will receive a $15 monthly bill credit on their CCEC bill, equivalent to approximately 470 miles of driving a month.*
To receive the bill credit, enrolled CCEC members are asked to charge their electric vehicles between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
The off-peak home charging incentive is intended to take pressure off the grid and incentivize members to charge during hours when there is less stress on the electrical generation and transmission system.
When EV owners schedule charging during off-peak hours, it helps keep our electric service more affordable and reliable. It also helps keep our energy mix cleaner. When the need for electricity in our region exceeds the capacity of Bonneville Power Administration’s generators, utilities often have to rely more on generators powered by fossil fuels.
*Mileage example is calculated at 9.56 cents per kWh and EV efficiency of 3 miles per kWh.
Who qualifies? Program Requirements:
Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) which are registered and routinely charged at a Member’s service location.
The BEV/PHEV has a battery capacity of greater than 10 kWh.
Member must schedule routine charging between the hours of 10:00 pm and 6:00 am.
Member must utilize level 2 (240 volt) charging.
- One service credit per address.
