In every community, they're everyday heroes who go above and beyond to enhance the lives of those around them. Whether they are teachers who inspire young minds, coaches who mentor and guide, volunteers who tirelessly give their time, pastors who offer unwavering support, service members and first responders who protect and serve, or community leaders who drive positive change, these unsung heroes often go unrecognized.
We're excited to announce a new tribute program celebrating these extraordinary individuals. "Heroes Among Us."
Purpose: Honoring Everyday Heroes
"Heroes Among Us" aims to shine a beacon on the remarkable people within our Southern Oregon community who dedicate themselves to making a difference. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for the community to recognize and celebrate these selfless individuals who might otherwise remain unnoticed.
How You Can Get Involved
We invite everyone in our community to participate by nominating the heroes among us. If you know a person or people who fit this description, we encourage you to share their story with us. Here's how you can nominate:
- Visit our website: Go to our website and locate the "Heroes Among Us" nomination form.
- Please fill out the form. Provide detailed information about your nominees), including why you believe they deserve special recognition for their contributions.
- Submit your nomination: Complete and submit your nomination form before August 25, 2024.
To give you an idea of who these heroes might be, here are some examples:
- Teachers: Those who go beyond the curriculum to motivate and inspire students.
- Coaches: Individuals who teach more than just sports, imparting life lessons and values.
- Volunteers: Community members who selflessly give their time and effort to support various causes.
- Pastors: Leaders who provide spiritual guidance and support to their congregations and the community at large.
- Service Members: Veterans, active duty, and first responders. These brave men and women who protect and serve our community and country.
- Community Leaders: Individuals who take the initiative to drive positive change in the community.
Recognition and Reward
From the nominations received, we will select two exceptional heroes who have made significant contributions to our community. These outstanding individuals will receive:
An honorary plaque of recognition to acknowledge their dedication and impact.
A $250 gift certificate to Fred Meyer as a token of our appreciation for their efforts.
