Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative and Beacon Broadband are excited to announce their joint effort organizing the annual School Supply Drive in August. The initiative aims to support local students by collecting and distributing much-needed school supplies throughout the CCEC service territory.
Members and the community at large are encouraged to participate in the School Supply Drive by donating new school supplies at any CCEC or Beacon Broadband office. Drop-off locations are available at CCEC’s offices in Brookings, Gold Beach, Port Orford and Coquille, as well as Beacon Broadband in Harbor.
The School Supply Drive plays a vital role in ensuring students in the region have the necessary tools to excel academically. By donating school supplies, community members can make a direct and positive impact on the lives of local children.
Last year, the generous contributions of CCEC members and the community resulted in more than 10,000 donated supplies, helping countless students start the school year off right.
Supplies collected during the drive are distributed to schools across the CCEC service territory. By collaborating with local educational institutions, CCEC and Beacon Broadband deliver supplies to students who need them the most, fostering an environment conducive to learning and success.
For the residents of Port Orford, supplies must be submitted by Sunday, August 13, for timely distribution to local schools. The earlier the contributions are made, the better the chances of reaching a maximum number of students. “We are thrilled to partner with Beacon Broadband once again for the School Supply Drive,” says Keith Buchhalter, CCEC marketing and member services manager. “Our cooperative believes in the power of education and giving back to the community. By providing school supplies to local students, we hope to empower them and contribute to their academic journey. We encourage all community members to participate in this meaningful initiative and make a positive difference in the lives of our youth.
