Beginning May 18, 2026, members of Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CCEC) will see their energy use from the previous day when logging into their account, instead of the current two-day delay.
Members will continue to see the same usage data as before; it will now reflect a more recent day.
“This update gives our members a clearer picture of their recent energy use,” said Keith Buchhalter, Marketing and Member Services Manager. “Nothing about how usage is calculated or billed is changing, this is simply more current information when they check their account.”
The improvement is made possible by completed upgrades to CCEC’s metering system and the connection of all substations to fiber through its subsidiary, Beacon Broadband. These investments allow usage data to be delivered more efficiently.
Members can log in to the CCEC billing portal to view daily usage graphs, track consumption patterns, sign up for custom alerts, and stay better informed about their electric service.
"This is one of the practical benefits of the work we’ve done to upgrade our system and expand fiber," Buchhalter added. "It allows us to provide our members with more up-to-date information about their energy use."
What Members Can Expect
- Usage will reflect the previous day instead of a two-day delay
- The same information will be available, just more current
- Rates, billing, and account settings will not change
One-Time Transition on May 18
On May 18, usage may appear higher than usual. This is expected. The first entry will include two days of energy use as the system transitions from a two-day delay to next day reporting. After May 18, usage will display one day at a time.
Members are not charged twice.
An Update for Prepay Members
CCEC is making updates to the prepay program effective May 18, 2026, to provide a more consistent and predictable account experience.
Accounts with a negative balance may be subject to disconnection any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
Members can stay informed about their balance by signing up for free text alerts and reminders. Alerts can be set up by calling Member Services at 541-332-3931, emailing ms@cooscurryelectric.com, or logging in to the CCEC billing portal at https://billing.ccec.coop/onlineportal/.
CCEC is also lowering the minimum credit required to restore service following a disconnection from $25 to $10. This reduces the amount needed to reconnect service and makes it easier to restore power.
